Thank you :) Needing all the luck I can get.

(I'm wondering whether my being born on a Friday 13th is helping here ... ;))

Hi Cleo, it's still going fairly slowly sadly. It's a case of fits and starts. In a week I'll get a handful of emails asking me questions and my CV with promises of Skype interviews. But then nothing ever comes of them. Then there will be other weeks where I just don't hear anything :(

I'm not currently formulating a Plan B. Going to approach my current employer about working remotely. They already have a few employees working remotely, so it's not totally unheard of. IF they agree, hoping to head out to Bahrain in May. And then continue the job hunt while I'm there. Hopefully, while I'm physically there, and still earning, it might be a bit easier to find a job there.

If that's still not fruitful, I do have an option of going contract/freelance. Maybe.

It is a good idea to work remotely first. Don't give up! I am sure you'll find a job in Bahrain.

By the way, I forgot to ask why do you want to move to Bahrain from London? Many people like living in London.

Well, first hurdle sort of cleared. The manager said she would be okay with me working remotely. I just need clearance from the one, one level up. Waiting to hear about that.

@Anna - My OH is currently in Bahrain and it's likely that he'll be in Bahrain for at the very least the next two years. More than likely, more. We've done long distance for nearly a year. Be nice to close the distance!

Great news! Hope the respond from level up will be positive as well :)
Oh, I see... It is hard to be on such a distance from your love... Skype or Viber can help to see or hear your close people but nothing can replace hugs or kisses.
So you just have to move to Bahrain :) I believe that you'll be there very soon.

Skype and Google Hangouts have been our mainstay this past year, or so. Be nice  to close that gap soon though.

Still waiting to hear back from senior management  :o
