My husband is thinking about taking a job in Bahrain and I was wondering if I would be able to continue to work from home. I know in some places there are blocked websites, and I am a freelancer, so I spend a lot of time researching and visiting all different websites. If they are blocked, is there a way around this? Thanks!

My husband is actually in IT so I can definitely help answer this.  You need a VPN service.  It helps mask your IP address so that you maintain some level of privacy as you visit all kinds of sites, even those that are blocked.  I don't think it will be a problem at all for you to continue to work from home.

I have never used a VPN before, but I came across some reviews: http://sahrzad.net/blog/how-to-bypass-bahrain-internet-filters-effectively/ Is this a good option for what I need? Thanks for your help.

Yes, that's exactly what you need.  Now you just need to pick which one fits your budget.  There are free ones too but I've heard they don't work as intended so you're better off paying for it.
For example I used http://vpnprivacy.services
They are pretty good.
